FAQs
About the MumWrap
Why is it uncomfortable when I am sitting down with my MumWrap?
Before you sit, try pulling the MumWrap lower on the body.
I'm several months postpartum – is it too late to wear the Classic Restoring MumWrap?
There is no single timetable that suits everyone. You may use the MumWrap later in your postpartum journey if it fits correctly and feels comfortable. Ask a qualified healthcare professional if you are unsure whether compression is appropriate for you.
How long should I wear the MumWrap for?
Wear the MumWrap only while it feels comfortable and allows normal breathing and movement. Start with a short period and remove it if you feel pain, numbness, dizziness, shortness of breath or increased discomfort. Do not sleep in it. Ask your healthcare professional for individual guidance after birth or surgery.
Can we sleep in the MumWrap?
No. Remove the MumWrap before sleeping or lying down for an extended period. Use it only while awake and able to notice changes in comfort, breathing or circulation.
What can't we do in the MumWrap?
Do not sleep, shower or perform strenuous exercise in the MumWrap. It should not restrict breathing, circulation or normal movement. Remove it immediately if you feel pain, numbness, dizziness, shortness of breath or increased discomfort.
When should I start wearing the MumWrap?
Recovery and comfort needs vary. If you have recently given birth or had surgery, ask your midwife, GP or other qualified healthcare professional when a compression garment is appropriate for you. Do not place it over an incision or irritated skin.
Can I wear the MumWrap when I'm pregnant?
No. The MumWrap is a postpartum garment and is not designed for use during pregnancy. For support during pregnancy, use a product specifically designed for that purpose and follow your healthcare professional’s advice.
Does anyone else have difficulties putting on the MumWrap by themselves?
Check the garment is the right side up and fasten the hook-and-eye clasps from top to bottom at a comfortable setting. Do not force a tight fit. Contact us if you need help with sizing or fastening.
Do I use my pre- or post-pregnancy measurements?
Use your actual post-delivery measurements and compare them with the size guide. If you are between sizes, contact us for fit advice rather than choosing extra compression. The garment should allow normal breathing and movement.
Which size should I get if I haven't given birth yet?
Choose your size using your actual post-delivery waist measurement and the size guide. Measurements can change after birth, so a pregnancy measurement cannot reliably predict your later fit. Contact us for sizing help and ask your healthcare professional whether compression is appropriate.
Can I reuse my MumWrap from the first time?
Of course! We purposely designed the MumWraps with strength and durability so that it maintains its shape and compression. However, if you do feel the compression is not as strong as it was (especially for mummas who have had multiple births), then it's time to get a new one
About the Scar Patch
When can I start using the Silicone Patches?
You can start once your skin has fully closed and settled. If you're unsure, check with your midwife or GP first.
How long should I wear the Silicone Patches for?
Follow the package directions and your healthcare professional’s guidance. Start with a short wear period and remove the patch daily to clean it and check the skin. Each patch may be reused for up to 7 days with appropriate care; this does not mean 7 days of continuous wear. Replace sooner if it is damaged, dirty or no longer adheres. Stop use if irritation occurs.
Can I wear the Silicone Patches in the shower, or during water activities?
The patches are water-resistant. Follow the package directions; water-resistant does not guarantee adhesion during swimming or prolonged immersion. Remove and clean the patch as directed and check the skin daily.
The Silicone Patch was fine before, but then it got a little itchy / uncomfortable?
Remove the patch and stop use if irritation or discomfort occurs. Do not apply a new patch to irritated, broken or infected skin. If irritation persists after removal, or you are unsure whether the product is suitable for you, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
How small can I cut the Silicone Patches into?
The Silicone Patches are made big enough for most kinds of c-section scars, so it may be larger than needed. We recommend vertically cutting the Silicone Patch into half at most, as smaller pieces may come off when being constantly rubbed against your clothing.
Where can I use the Silicone Patch?
It is designed for fully closed, settled skin around a C-section scar area. Do not apply it before the skin has fully closed, or to irritated or infected skin. Ask a qualified healthcare professional if you are unsure whether it is suitable for you.
Can I share my Silicone Patches with others?
Not unless they're unopened and unused. Sharing Silicone Patches can increase the risk of cross-contamination and infections.
About the Foot Patch
Can I use the Foot Patches when I'm pregnant and/or whilst breast feeding?
Check with your midwife, GP or another qualified healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Natural ingredients do not establish that a product is suitable for everyone. Follow the package directions and stop use if irritation occurs.
Do I have to use the Foot Patches at night, or can I use them during the day too?
We assume you're not always walking on your feet at night so we recommend putting the patches on when we sleep. Feel free to use them during the day too, but we did warn you that it could get uncomfortable with prolonged periods of walking.
Why did my Foot Patches become wet/brownish-black?
Warmth and moisture can change the appearance of the patch. A colour change is not evidence that toxins or excess fluid have been removed from the body. Rinse off residue after removal and stop use if irritation or discomfort occurs.
How long can I leave the Foot Patches on for?
We recommend taking them off after 8 hours and not leaving them on for over 10 hours.
What do I do if I've stuck the wrong side of the Foot Patch to the adhesive tape?
Unfortunately, our Foot Patches only work on one side. You'll need to use a new one if you made a mistake.
I don't understand the writings on the Foot Patch?
That's because it's Japanese! We source our Foot Patches from Japan to ensure quality assurance. We've already translated the writings for you, it simply means "stick this side to the adhesive tape".
Are the Foot Patches only good for postpartum mummas?
No. They are a general adult self-care accessory. Follow the package directions and check with a qualified healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have sensitive skin or have any health concerns.
Can the Foot Patches be used on your feet only?
Yes. Apply the patches only to clean, dry, intact skin on the soles of the feet, following the package directions. Do not use on broken, irritated or sensitive skin.
